Our Vision for PSHE at St George's
‘Let all that you do be done in Love’ 1 Corinthians 16:14
The example of Jesus Christ and the Good news that he brings inspire St George’s school to be a place of hope and a caring and inclusive community in which we all love to learn and learn to love
‘A Cheerful disposition is good for your health’ Proverbs 17 verse 22
PSHE covers many elements which seek to help children understand the importance of relationships and how they are good for our physical and mental wellbeing. It includes how to stay healthy and what constitutes a healthy life as well as knowing how to keep safe in our modern world and who to tell if they have worries. It seeks to develop children’s emotional intelligence and build resilience by giving children strategies to cope and self-regulate. Our growth mindset and learning powers help to reinforce the skills needed to live healthy lives and build good relationships and our Values shared by Christians, Muslims and those of other faiths connects our spiritual and moral wellbeing, to the physical, emotional and relational dimensions of our lives. We aim to develop children’s understanding of justice and how this reflects the nature of God as we seek to influence the world for good and be part of the Big Story and help build the Kingdom of God.
