Our Vision for Music at St George's
‘Let all that you do be done in Love’ 1 Corinthians 16:14
The example of Jesus Christ and the Good News that he brings inspire St George's school to be a place of hope and a caring and inclusive community in which we all love to learn and learn to love.
‘A School without music is a school without a soul’ Don Bosco
Music is a powerful, unique form of communication that can change the way we feel, think and act. It brings together intellect and feeling and enables personal expression, reflection, emotional and spiritual development. As an integral part of culture, past and present, it helps pupils understand themselves and others, forging important links between the home, school and the wider world. The teaching of music develops pupils’ ability to listen and appreciate a wide variety of music, to explore sounds and use their imagination and creativity to make their own music, and to develop the confidence to perform for others.
Psalm 57;7 My heart, O God is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.

Extra curricular music
Mr Bennett is our music teacher and is currently teaching our Year 4 class how to play the guitar.
Singing
For any children who love to sing, Mrs Strafford runs an after school club where the children can learn pop songs together and have a singalong!
Whenever we can we like to perform for others. At Christmas and other times throughout the year we sing at the residential homes in our local area and our children perform their Christmas Production songs at the church Carol Service every December.
